2012 Christmas Fun

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS! What a wonderful Savoir you are!
Christmas 2012 was very wonderful! It was the best year where it was enjoyable! I was in no pain, I found myself feeling completely normal and Thank You Lord for allowing me to feel this way again! This Christmas we were not able to see my parents for the first year due to them having around 8 inches of snow! It makes me sad, but I call mom almost every day this week checking on them!

This year Josh definitely surprised me with concert tickets to see my favorite gospel singers: Gaither Vocal Band and Homecoming friends! I remember as a little kid growing up and going around to gospel concerts, and meeting many singers like Al Brumley, Lynda Randal, Florida Boys, Jeff and Sheri Easter; so many to name!

Dress Up Sign

I am linking up with Beyond The Picket Fence and here is what I have that I made a couple days ago for daughters room. They got several dress up clothes for Christmas and needed a place for them to hang on! Enjoy!
Supplies Needed
Picket Fence
Screws/Knobs
Paint
Stencils
Sander
Dark Stain

Instructions
  • I started out by sanding my picket fence.
  • Then I painted a pink color on my picket fence. The paint color, it is from Lowe's.
  • I let it dry for a couple of hours, and sanded the edges, and all around really good.
  • Next I got a pencil and traced the letters on, and painted it in with the turquoise paint from Lowe's as well.
  • Once you paint your letters, let it dry for a couple of hours.
  • Once dry I sanded over the letters.
  • I got my dark stain and gently wiped over it, giving it a dark antique look.

Not Stealing My Joy

Make up your mind today that no matter what comes your way, nothing is going to steal your joy!-Joel Olsteen

This quote is one of my favorites that I say to myself quite often now days! I am tempted to make a sign and place it in my hall.

This quote stuck with me due to many individuals that I run into that try to be rude, snotty, or have the attitude that I am better than you. I was not raised in Bentonville, Arkansas and it is a huge adjustment coming to a town that where a lot of attitude like that. I am thankful for the small town that I was raised in, it taught me that no matter where I am to always have respect of people no matter what they look like or how they are dressed.

One thing I keep in mind is that God has put me here for a reason in this town, but where is my small town atmosphere!

Blessing Campaign

I have many blessings to be thankful for: Jesus, Parents, Husband, 4 Children, Brothers, Sisters, Extended Family, and Close Friends who text me with such sweet messages!

I know I have not posted much lately but, honestly December is a hard month now days. Our third daughter Sadie was born 8/9/09, and her due date was Christmas. I think of her daily but more so in December.

Here are my many blessings in pictures!

Reflecting Back-2 Years Cancer Free!

I started writing this post Thursday morning before the children got up, but I could not finish it. Tears started rolling, just looking back and how far things have come after cancer.

This is what I started:
I love to reflect back and look at all the wonderful things God has done for me and my family! Almost everyday I reflect back on the day I found out I had cancer. Something I will never forget! I found myself more thankful for the leaves, my long thick hair, fresh air. Majority of the time cancer is on my mind.
This week I had a CT Scan , and the days leading up to the results I am nervous and excited and look forward to seeing my doctor and catching up with him! He is the most compassionate doctor I know, and loves his job! He has the sweetest wife and three children! Yesterday (Friday) was a great! I was told my lymph nodes on my neck are shrinking, and they may never go back to normal size but that is OK him. I was going every 3 months for a scan and doctor visit, but now I get to go every 6 months!!! I graduated up in his terms! I am thankful that he has a strict plan on seeing me! 3 more years and I will be declared cancer free!

I will leave you all with this wonderful quote that I love and live by:

"You go nowhere by accident. Wherever you go, God is sending you. Wherever you are, God has put you there. He has a purpose in your being there. Christ who indwells you has something He wants to do through you wherever you are."Dr. Richard C. Halverson, Chaplain of U.S.Senate
A FULL HEAD OF HAIR

Hard to imagine I had no hair at one time, Gods wonderful

Whimsical Burlap Stocking

This was a fun project Sophie and I did for the wreath outside! I stuffed the inside with scraps of material. Then sewed the top. To keep the shape and to hand it, I got a wire hanger and straightened it out then folded it in half. It help form the toe of the stocking really well. Have fun, any questions just ask.

Another Year of Thankfulness!

  • This week has been a wonderful week of Thankfulness! I am most thankful for Jesus! He is number one in my life to be thankful for! He has been a strong rock for me through some hard times with cancer almost 2 years ago, and on going CT Scans and Pet Scans for the next 3 years. He has carried me through some dark and bright days!  Blessed to have him as my personal savior
  •  My husband-blessing that was sent to me 5 years ago, and one of the best! Someone I lean on a lot and able to tell any thing too! Thankful for him!
  • Sophia-a wonderful blessing from God! So quite at times, and my sweet loving girl!
  • Jaxsun-sweet, sweet boy! So full of energy and keeps us on our toes!
  • Sadie-Sweet angel in heaven who I miss everyday! I keep many memories of you around the house on my dresser. I am thankful for the time I got to carry you in my womb. God had other plans for you! Giving you back to God was one of the hardest things, and I could have sat in the hospital for weeks holding you.
  • Allie Girl-Our sadness went to excitement finding out we were expecting you, and then being born on Sadie's birthday! Blessed to have our two youngest share a birthday! You are a bundle of joy and so full of life!
  • My parents-blessed beyond measure! Blessed to have them raise with great morals, values, and integrity!
  • Siblings-each one are wonderful, and love getting to see them!
  • Friends-you each know that I love you, and cherish your friendships! I love and am thankful for those nice text, messages on Facebook. It brings a smile to my face!
  • Life, it is wonderful and I feel blessed beyond measure with all that God has given me! Some times life is hard and sad, and missing family or not seeing friends is difficult but God always knows how to keep a smile on my face regardless of how rough things can get!
